Childcare Subsidy

In July 2018, the Government introduced the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to assist families with Child Care Fees. This fee payment is paid directly to the service and passed onto families.

The CCS targets low to middle income families and provides for up to 95% of child care fees.

To be eligible for the CCS, the child must meet the Australian Immunisation criteria and you must meet the residency requirements listed in the legislation.

There are three elements that determine a family’s level of CCS payment.

  • Combined Family Income
  • Activity Test – the activity level of both parents
  • Service type – what care and education service the child attends
