Family Involvement

We believe families are the most influential educators in a child’s life and play the first and most fundamental role in their development.

We believe meaningful relationships between children; their families and educators create a sense of belonging that is critical to healthy development and optimal learning.

We embrace and value diversity and welcome families from all cultures, creating a safe, inclusive space where individuals are respected. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are acknowledged, respected, and valued.

We embed indigenous perspectives within our centre in meaningful ways to benefit both indigenous and non-indigenous children and families in our community. Documentation of children’s learning, together with communicating with families is an integral part of learning at Kid’n Around.

We believe that Kid’n Around is an extension of the home environment and wish for you to always feel welcome.

At Kid’n Around we are active on Facebook, where parent permission has been provided, we share photos and information about the benefits of our learning activities. We encourage all our parents to like us on Facebook so that you can always stay up to date. Private groups are also set up so families can receive daily photos of their children.

To ensure families do not miss any vital information, we also communicate via email with parents about upcoming events and all other administrative enquiries. Most importantly, we are always happy to chat with you dropping off or picking up your child, so that we can provide the best care for your little one each day.

Involvement with families is a key to our success so welcome families to share their profession and skills with us.
