Sustainability
We believe we have a responsibility to promote a sustainable future and foster respectful relationships with our natural environment, promoting a love of nature and animals.
We plant seasonal produce in our vegetable and herb gardens which we use at the centre or offer to families at the service.
We continuously learn with the children about what worms can and cannot eat and understand their importance in our eco system.
We encourage the children to be environmentally responsible in all that that they do. At meal times the children are provided teaching opportunities to put their scraps in worm and waste containers. In the children’s bathrooms we encourage children to use one squirt of soap, one disposable paper towel, to water wise and above all environmentally responsible. A worm farm has been setup to process the daily green waste from the centre. The worm wee from our worm tower fertilises our plants.
Indoors and outdoors, we strive to provide natural play spaces, educating children about our planet through play and discovery.
Kid’N Around’s philosophy is based on the concept of nature and growth and we believe in showing respect for our natural environment.
