Sleep, Rest & Relaxation

Sleep, Rest & Relaxation Time

Kid’n Around aims to meet all children’s individual needs by allocating a quiet time within our routine, to ensure that children have a healthy balance of active and passive activities throughout the day. All children are required to relax at rest time, so they can unwind their bodies and take care of their mental health. When a child begins care parents stipulate whether they would prefer their child to sleep, rest or relax.

Educators will never force a child to sleep, and no child will be forced to stay awake if they are tired. If educators can see a child is tired, we will provide the child with a bed giving your child’s body the choice to rest or sleep.

During sleep time the required number of educators will always be in the child’s room. Educators will chart children’s breathing and skin colour every 15 minutes.

For children who are not sleeping, quiet music, meditation or yoga will be practiced before quiet activities such as drawing, puzzles or cutting commence. Parents are asked to pack individual cot sheets for their child in their own pillowcase.

The centre is closed for tours in rest time.
